Great point of view...makes me think of being a kid.
nev: Thanks for that Mary.
It is a great picture, Nev. How funny. On my way home from work, I was thinking about finding a tree, laying under it and getting some shots. You must have read my mind.
nev: I was reading your mind Kay. Now if only i could filter out some of that other stuff i was reading as well. teehee only jokin thanks Kay. This was a pond reflection so it may get a little wet under this particular tree.
Nice pic, Nev.
My archive is sprinkled with shots like this. I like taking them, cos it gets me up close and personal with the tree, and I like looking at them. Oz.... http://www.all-my-world.com/Australia2006/slides/flora7%20dec2006.html China... http://www.all-my-world.com/favourite%20pictures/Countries/China/slides/tombs6fav%20china%20june2005.html ...are a couple of examples I have posted in various places.
nev: Cool photos Ray. i think i have a eucalypt tree or two like yours. this one was a a reflection shot.
Great perspective. Makes you WANT to climb it.
nev: Might have been a little wet from this perspective as this is a shot of a pond but i agree makes me want to climb it as well. thanks for your perspective gale
I have already climbed it in my mind's eye, Neal. I spent a lot of my thinking/meditation time up in a special tree during my teens. I worked a lot things out up there!
nev: Showers used to be my place of contemplation but since we are on 4 minutes showers you have to get your thinking done pretty quickly these days. Maybe i should sit up a tree or two. thanks ginnie, must find a tree now.
It's so clear and sharp it is hard to see it as a reflection, and I agree with the others, it does make you want to climb it.
No town water at my place, paid $85 for a load of water Tuesday. Makes 4 mins seem a long time.
nev: The water situation is not good Aus. i presume you are on property as some of your pics show. I don't usually spend 4 minutes anyway. it is usually hop in hop out these days.
Climb this tree and drown
A great shot.
nev: It is not always safe climbing trees. especially these aquatic ones. cheers louis
Does this mean the drought in your neck of the woods is over or did you move? Have a good weekend yourself!
nev: No Martin the drought still continues. this was taken near a world heritage area in new south wales where they are at the mouth of a large river. one of the plans on the board for brisbane city is to pipe the water from this area into queensland wchih is 3 hours drive away.
I did really think I was looking up and not down! Have you had some rain now? Are things any better?
nev: No rain at all Jose. We have recently ordered a water tank but with no rain it would be useless anyway.
like Jose, I thought that I was looking straight up and the breeze throwing the distant branches off focus! super shot. mal
nev: it was all the dark tannins in the water that was giving it that black mirror look. only regret is i didn't get more shot to give it more context. cheers mal.
I like it Nev, I like it ...
nev: thanks zeb i always appreciate your comments
This reminds me of summer days lying on the grass, reading a good book- then you are distracted- looking up, you notice that the tree stretches endlessly up. You feel small but good.
nev: great mental images your have painted there jamoula
