two worlds collide
We took a short break down to Yamba in northern New South Wales over the weekend. We had to keep my eldest son up all night on thursday so that he could have a sleep deprived test on friday morning. After the test  we drove about 300 kilometres south to the fishing surfing town of Yamba. A beautiful part of the world where a lot of surfers from around the world go to surf the Angourie point break.

I took the boys down to the beach early saturday morning hoping to get a couple of shots but the wind was bitterly cold and probably a little like the weather northern hemispherers experience. My youngest was crying from the cold so the trip was cut fairly short. All of the photos i had been imagining before the trip i didn't get to take. So it was a bit of disappointing in that respect.

This shot would for many people be a binner. I love to keep shots like this. In fact here i have layered the before and after shot just so there is a bit more of the detail in the background. I have a number of similar shots. To me the shot symbolizes my children wanting to be included in the process. I have had this conversation with a shutterchancer before and very often as a child you do not know how much your parents love you until you have children yourself. This shot is one of their ways of saying i love you. It is also their way of telling me that the composition is cr*p as they always manage to poke their head in frame when the shot needs improving.
