Scream in Black
Took this shot a number of months ago and just now realised that it looks like an old Midnight Oil album cover.

not often that i'm stumped for words! Almost pop art in presentation but ethereal in beauty! stunning! mal
nev: Can't have you stumped for words Mal. the sky must be falling hehe. cheers
This doesn't look like it will catch on fire easily. These waves pack a punch. Lovely capture, Nev!
nev: it wasn't midnight that was the problem. thanks Martin
Excellent mono Nev, these waves are just wonderful, the choice of b&w adds a timeless side to your compo.
nev: Thanks Florence there was not much colour so going to mono was an easy choice
Ooooooooooooo!
Liquid metal, forming a pipe...vapour helmets on the peaks, wedding veils for sea-brides. Perhaps the most beautiful sea-scape I have seen, nev.
nev: Thanks for your wonderful words Ray they are much appreciated
quelle beauté dans ce mouvement! un délice
nev: merci objectif

nev: virtual cheers mick. your pound is so much better than our banana republic dollar. i will stand by the letter box waiting for tinnies.
Breathtaking photography. I think this is so beautiful. Love the softness of the plumes of spray contrasting with the almost metallic sharpness of the sea. (:o)
nev: Thank you very much Rosalyn. The spray really drew me in.
What a fantastic shot. Excellent composition.
nev: thanks for dropping by and commenting standley
Cracking image - well captured. David.
nev: thanks heaps david
This was worth waiting for - likeyed again. So watcha screaming about - new job OK?
Question: is this a night shot?
nev: I always appreciate likeys Louis. No screaming at the new job. This was shot at around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, almost into the sun. I would have liked a night shot but were were heading home and were checking out small villages on the way home. found this large surf and a few surfers with there mates videoing them. unfortunately no good shots of the surfers in the barrels.
Impressive... and a great allusion...
nev: thanks as always for your comments minelmio
Absolutely awesome, Neal!
nev: very kind of you ginnie
Exceptional image Neal - the wall of the wave looks amazing. Only slight problem for me is sharp definition on the plume furthest away - can't have everything tho can we? Mike ;o)
nev: you are right mike. At the time I couldn't really see through the viewfinder as there was a lot of light so i was pretty happy that i got a couple of keepers.
Wow! Nev! Is a very, very nice shot. I like! Great!
nev: cheers jose glad you like it
the spray is COOL...
nev: yeah i wish i had more time at this spot. i would have liked some more shots of these winter swells

nev: i feel like i am the one that is always learning roland. thank you
Hi nice pic did you photo shop the top of the waves or is it as taken
nev: transitboy the photo is as taken. I cannot recall but i think virtually the only processing would have been levels and a mono conversion.
Love it!
nev: cheers steve.
The ocean is my favorite place in the world. This shot is just fabulous! Moves me in so many ways! Do you sell your work? I would love a copy of this!
nev: I love the ocean as well. I am glad it evokes such emotions Helen. I have done the occasional commission for friends but mainly shoot for pleasure. i can send you a copy.
Excellent everything
nev: thanks for the excellent comment
Galloping white horses. When I was little we had day trips to the seaside and that's what my parents would call them - the breakers in the distance. I can almost see the flaring nostrils!
An image so full of vitality, so uplifting, so spectacular, it draws you in and bowls you over.
nev: wow such imagery Jose. The photo reminds me a little of the day my brother and i taught ourselves to surf in the middle of a cyclone as teenagers. cheers
Amazing shot - the waves almost look alive! You must have been very patient to get this one!
Ingrid
nev: To be honest ingrid i had a hard time seeing through the viewfinder as the sun was in my eyes and we had only briefly stopped to check out this fishing surfing village. thanks
Ace shot! Whatever happened to Midnight Oil?
nev: cheers dave. The broke up as the lead singer Peter Garrett went into parliament. he is currently the opposition environment minister. They get together again periodically. dont listen to mal without your vaudeville gear on.
it got burnt DC!
nev: boom tisssshhh heehee. thats right folks mal will be here all week. ha thanks mal
Mesmerising picture, makes you look at it, then look again and again... Amazing effect and great PP.
nev: Thanks Monica, sometimes we get lucky. not much pp to it apart from a mono conversion and a crop
