Better call the plumber before you take that nap, Nev. With big drips like that you are a major waster of Australia's most endangered assets. [grin]
nev: You are right Ray. This was taken when i was having the entire plumbing replaced. No more drips now.
Love it Neal. How many tries for this one?
nev: I have about 4 on the puter and i think i deleted a couple so not too many. i think i just got lucky. thanks Jose
I would never manage to capture that shot, not in a month of Sundays! It excellent! (:o)
nev: Thanks Rosalyn i guess i just got lucky with my timing
Wow! Total focus on that one drop of water. Amazing!
nev: i did pre-focus on the point and fired off a few until i got one ginnie.
Great shot -but I see two drops lol. I like the crop and dof too, makes the shot really work. Mike
nev: i am glad you see two as well mike. the crop was tight as i did not want to clone out some distracting objects around the tap. cheers.
That's clever, I admire your dedication, it must have taken ages to get it right.
Have you had some rain now?
nev: I got lucky that was all ellie. Either that or the glowing lights in the kitchen drew my attention away from the taps. all the shots were in a couple of minutes. We have had a little rain but not enough to change our water restrictions from level 5.
Have you thrown the kitchen sink out with the revamp? Since water is so scarce you should have your taps pumping Fosters or heaven forbid - XXXX
Excellent and I am sure it took some real planning and practise. To the likeys.
nev: The ugly old sink and taps remain for the moment. As a queenslander we have to defend xxxx even if the kiwis own it these days but to drink fosters is not defendable at all. i am chuffed it made it into the likeys louis thanks
Was just about to comment and then read your note...guess I need to judge it rather than comment!!
nev: don't go and comment prematurely Simon. we will all wait patiently until the results are through.
Cool! Nice catch.
Well down (done)

Relevance and Creativity I love the idea behind this. Action in a mundane subject. Scores 8 Overall Impact The monochrome works very well in this as it helps focus the attention. Scores 7 Composition Hmmmmm, not so sure you nailed the composition but having been there myself I can appreciate how hard it is to nail the perfect droplet. I would also note that you need to be aware of the rest of the frame. You've got interesting elements around the shot that help support the theme but the actually distract from the water especially as they are all clipped so close to the edge. I would suggest re-composing with the other elements in more complimentary positions. Scores 6 sorry Quality of Image I think you've presented the shot you set out to but it's just let down a little by composition and uncooperative droplets! Scores 7 Total 28/40 Full list of entries on BeakerSt July 24th Thanks for taking part, I hope you find the comments constructive and fair but let me know if not as it is just my opinion! Simon
nev: Your comments couldn't be fairer Simon. The clipping thing bugged me too but I had too many more distracting things in the background like tiles and grout and kitchen gloves so i tried to remove as many as possible without using the clone tool. You picked a worthy winner and congrats to Paul. Thanks again for your excellent and honest opinions. They make a difference.
This is my favourite! I've often thought what beautifully sculpturous things taps are. Thanks for this beauty caught.
nev: Kind of you to say so. there were a few distracting elements to the shot but this was the most kitcheney out of my kitchen shots.
