Blue Poles
Ok its not a Jackson Pollack and the poles aren't blue but they are poles. Thats a start. Minimalist post where a little bit more is too much.

I really like this shot.
nev: cheers kate you're a champ.
Stingy bugger! What about a seagull, or a flying fish....or a little yellow plastic duckie.
Actually...I like it! The sky, in particular, has so much atmospheric character. And the poles....the poles...they speak of the unresolved, unprecedented juxtaposition of the natural of the derived.[grin]
nev: Sorry Ray times are tough. Couldn't afford the ammo for yellow duckie launcher.
If i didn't know any better i would say you are either a fine art critic or a scientologist. Are you familiar with Sun Tzu's - Art of War. If i could quote you from an unpublished chapter of his work. "nǐ hǎo, yú dǔ nǐ dù kòu mián shì cāng" - 'I bet your belly button fluff is blue' http://www.abc.net.au/science/k2/lint/results.htm thanks Ray for your critique
Gee, Ray can write such nonsense at times!! LOL (sorry Ray
nev: We all know that Ray doesn't get out as much as he should. Thanks for your Welsh point of view too Neil.
It's like an abstract painting, Neal. What I really like is that tiny blur of light coming off the right pole. Just perfect.
nev: Thanks Ginnie I will take a perfect comment anyday. The touch of light is my favourite as well. Not that there is much else to look at
Very simple and beautiful.
nev: glad you like the simplicity bridge.
Have you captured these two poles in the dead sea. Thought that place was restricted to israel only. Poor Ray and he was only wishing for a yellow and green duck - you should have told him they are far and few between. But they probably don't know about cricket in thailand.
Excellent pic neal.
nev: In retrospect i was a little tough on Ray but i am pretty sure he has broad shoulders. His comments gave me a good laugh. I think Ray likes the thought of Green and Yellow ducks if they have proteas or impalas on them. Thanks for your smiles too Louis.
Its amazing Neal...can i have it on my wall??
gorgeous photo.... Petra
nev: If you want a full size copy i can send you one Petra but i know how your account doesn't like my emails. Thanks for your kind comment.
VERY minimalist. I've always had a weakness for that short of thing and I like this example. Smoothing out the sea via a long exposure is a really good idea. This would not work otherwise.
nev: It looked to be quite rough out at the beacons when i took this. glad it has appealed to your minimalist senses Martin.
I like this. It almost has a 3D quality. All the best, Dave
nev: Thank you Dave. The swirling of the waves creates a nice effect around the poles.
Not a Pollack perhaps, fine work though Neal.
nev: Maybe if I had cloned in about another 30 hundred Poles it might have started to look like one his works. Cheers chris.
stunning Neal, simplicity and perfect execution. mal
nev: Glad you like it Mal cheers.
A great one wich is going right now to my likeys !!
nev: Thanks for the compliment Zeb
Qué pretendías hacer aquí?, Nev. A mi me parece una imagen irreal. Tan irreal es que parece una imagen de video juego antiguo. El resultado es muy interesante.
What you tried to do here, Nev. To my it seems to me an unreal image. So unreal it is that it seems a video image old game. The result is very interesting
nev: Maybe the old video game is PONG. thanks Jose
That's good.
These poles? Something to do with sailing races perhaps?
nev: They are channel markers near a marina Ellie.
Nice shot. Very arty!
nev: cheers thanks PB
Eii! Nev, I hope that the climatic problems in Australia are not affecting to you!
nev: Thanks for asking José-Angel. The recent bad weather has not affected us but we are still waiting for rain to fill our dams.
minimalism rarely disappoints...works well here...
nev: Thanks Sam. maybe i should have pushed the boundaries and cropped one of the markers.
Pollack's stuff always looks like he threw-up on canvas when you see it reproduced in books. Full size, they look awesome. This looks nothing like either, but it's still awsome: great shot, Matey!
