Brazil

Its a little overcast and i am feeling a bit guilty for not continuing to post so i am putting up a dreary looking pic from a few months ago. It reminds me of the 1985 Terry Gilliam film Brazil. Hope you have a good weekend.

Its a fine shot, Nev, even though I find its overall aspect a little depressing.
Oh...and, I think the autofocus mechanism on your cam might need a little adjustment. [grin]
nev: Sounds like mission achieved. You have a camera with autofocus Ray. Strike me lucky. i gotta get myself one of those. hehe thanks ray. How is life in thailand.

Time you committed to a series! Yes, this does look bleak- but bleak is another space where we venture from.
nev: I think you are right Jamoula. I am returning to the town i grew up in next week, it might be time to aim for one after that.

It's like seeing through a glass darkly, Neal. Something that happens from time to time!
nev: Can't blame you for that ginnie. especially if the glass is full of crushed grapes.
Looks like the weather here Neal...post a bit of sunshine to warm us up mate wink
nev: Trying to oblige Chris. Hope things are starting to warm up
The smooth one degraded works the image very well. I like the processing!
nev: Thanks José-Angel. no processing apart from a mono conversion

Funny that I don't feel all the depressed notes here. It must be the juice of the grape.

Anyhow my guess is that you used one of those filters again. I just wish that you have attemted focus on that pier thing. I really have the grape juice blurring my vision now. OK there was some aquardente as well.

Try not to be absent so often. At least I am missing you.
nev: You are pretty right about the filters Louis. It was the nd400 once again. Focussing smokesing. I think its all over-rated. Thanks for the kind words Louis. i making an attempt of being more present. i dont want to bust some sort of a valve though.

I love the reflective bit in the water, it could be a pic on it's own. Agree we miss you and you should do more
nev: Thanks Aus. I think if i had twice the photos they still would be a very acquired taste.
Ah, there's the Nev we know and love. Back to the blurred images again. I thought you'd lost your touch for a while.

Welcome back; I've been very on and off myself lately - since redundancy before Christmas in fact. It plays havoc with your routines!
nev: G'day colin. I hope that everything is working out for you since your change in careers.

very cool image sir, the composition is great to imclude this reflection.

Funny that you mention Gilliam, he had put up an exhibition of his fav art work at the Tate modern late last year, it included work from Man Ray, Marcelle to name a few, I wish that I had gone. mal
nev: thanks you sir. i reckon that would have been pretty cool to have seen. i am unhappy i missed the warhol exhibition that has been here for the last 3 months.
Good reference to Brazil indeed ! I love the atmosphere of the picture - Great !!
Maybe I'm just too used to seeing Mal's favourite bridge - the blur here is distracting me. I find myself wanted to see the details. That's no-doubt your intention!
